Resources for New Golfers

Here are some links for additional information that you may find interesting.

United States Golf Association:  The national governing body for golf in the United States.  The official source of information on the Rules of Golf, etiquette and handicapping.  When you’re ready to learn the rules of golf, they have an excellent set of videos.  For a minimal shipping charge, they will send you the 2012 – 2015 Rules of Golf booklet.  When you get serious about golf, you’ll want to be a member of the USGA.

Play Golf America:  A website founded by the USGA, Professional Golf Association (PGA), Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), PGA Tour and other golf organizations to promote growth of the game of golf.  There is information on lessons programs, such as Get Golf Ready, and other great programs for getting involved in golf.  Click on the Get Golf Ready link to find an instructor in your area offering the special discounted lessons package.

Get Golf Ready:  You can get to this site from Play Golf America, but this is the direct link.  Enter your zip code to find Get Golf Ready programs near you.

Get Golfing Girls: A movement to get over 10,000 women introduced or reintroduced to golf.  Lots of info and resources for women golfers.  If you support the movement, sign the petition.

  1. This design is spectacular! You certainly know how to keep a reader amused.
Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog
(well, almost…HaHa!) Great job. I really loved what you
had to say, and more than that, how you presented it.
    Too cool!
